TIPS ONHOUSE TRAINING A DOG
Checkout :
Dog Fire Hydrant - plastic fire hydrant can be used as a storage container or set in your yard as a house training tool for your dog or puppy. Also makes a great gift for firemen!
Approximately 18" high by 8" at the base and holds 1.5 gallons of treats, food or cookies. Great replica of a fire hydrant and excellent conversation piece.
Instructions for using the Dog Fire Hydrant as a House Training Tool:
To use the dog fire hydrant as a house training tool, you will want to affix it firmly to a spot on your lawn where you would like to train your dog to go regularly. To do that, we suggest drilling a small hole in the base. Put a long tent peg or metal stake (not included) through the hole from inside the container and push the stake into the ground to secure the dog fire hydrant to the ground. Fill the container with gravel or sand to add weight and put the lid on the container. Now you have an attractive fire hydrant on your lawn where you can train your dog to do his business.
F.A.Q.'s about Training with the Dog Fire Hydrant Q: Do you place the fire-hydrant in an area of your lawn where you want the dog to go? Yes. Place your fire hydrant at a location where you want your puppy or dog to do his business. The location should be outside, in a quiet grassy area of your lawn, and away from your dog's food or water. Q: Is it hard to train dogs or puppies to pee on the fire hydrant? No. Training your puppy or dog to pee on the fire hydrant is no more difficult than training it to sit! As with any trained behavior, if the owner is persistent the dog will respond. Q: The Dog Fire Hydrant isn't laced with pheromone is it? (Pheromone is a hormone derived from dog urine that is used on some products to attract dogs.) No. And we aren't aware of any municipalities that treat their fire-hydrants with pheromone either! When your dog needs to pee simply walk him by the fire hydrant and it will quickly become treated naturally with pheromone! Q: Is it primarily for male dogs? Yes. While some female dogs will pee on it, generally male dogs like to lift their legs to pee on something while female dogs prefer to squat on the ground.
