Odor Eliminator
Odor Eliminator - for dog urine, cat urine, skunk smell or pet odor in general, the only odor eliminator products that truly work are the ones that actually neutralize the cause of the odor.
If an odor eliminator product has a scent, in all probability the product is employing one pleasant scent to overpower the other non-pleasant scent. If the product uses enzymes to battle the smell odor causing enzymes, well, when the "good" enzymes lose potency, the bad enzymes causing the smell often regain strength, and the smell returns. With either product choice, the source of the problem hasn't actually been eliminated, it has just been masked or temporarily battled. Bottom line - unless the source of the is actually eliminated forever, your odor problem will return.
So, what neutralizes the cause of the odor so that it won't return? Products containing stabilized Chlorine Dioxide are the ones that do the trick and are the ones you should be looking for. Chlorine Dioxide (not to be confused with Chlorine Gas) has been recognized for it's odor control and disinfectant properties since the early 1900's. Products with stabilized Chlorine Dioxide eliminate the source of the odor through an oxidative process that removes the problem forever. In other words, the source of the odor is oxidized, not masked or battled, and is transformed into ozone (largely) which dissipates and actually helps the environment in a small way. If the cause of the odor is bacteria, mold, or a virus, the active Chlorine Dioxide ingredient essentially kills these causes through the oxidative process, and completely eliminates the odor problem.
But, is that safe? Absolutely so, stabilized Chlorine Dioxide in the diluted form required for odor elimination has been shown to be completely safe, non-toxic, bio-degradable and hypoallergenic. One such product below, has now been approved by the US-EPA and Canada's Health & Welfare Department for use as an odor eliminator and broad spectrum disinfectant within hospitals, nursing homes, etc. In fact, all kennels, groomers, equestrian stables and animal transporters should consider these products as a more effective, cheaper, and less labor intensive method of sterilization than using the traditional bleach or other methods.
For household use - we recommend the original Nok-out for eliminating dog urine, cat urine or skunk smell. You can also use it for a variety of other smelly problems such as your shoes, mold, mildew, smoke, etc.
